Textured tresses can be a hassle to maintain when you’re trying to control frizz, fly-aways, beat dryness and ultimately have fierce hair every day. Give your hair the love and attention it needs to stay radiant with a good deep conditioner for biracial hair that will tame curls and hydrate your mane.
Total Keratin Obsession
For biracial curls that can get a little dull and loose their zest, Andre Walker, award-winning stylist to Oprah, recommends Total Keratin Obsession. The extreme moisture hair repair treatment is great for curls and fights heat, color and environmental damage. Apply the product weekly to wet hair for 5 to 10 minutes in the shower using a shower cap for optimum absorption. Rinse and say hello to lively, radiant hair.
For curly hair that gets super frizzy and dry, celebrity hair stylist Nadia Vassell recommends whisking frizz away with Ouidad’s 12 Minute Deep Treatment Intensive Conditioner. “Curly hair tends to get frizzy and dry; this conditioner replenishes and revives the hair.” Use after each wash-and-go style for sexy curls that are cute and controlled.
For thick and curly hair, beauty expert Becky Sturm recommends treating biracial tresses with John Masters Organics Lavender and Avocado Intensive Conditioner. After shampooing or rinsing, squeeze out excess moisture and rub a liberal amount of conditioner between palms. Apply the conditioner to the ends of the hair, gently squeezing and working conditioner up the hair shaft. Use your fingers to “comb” your hair and then use a wide-toothed comb to continue distribution. Wrap hair in a shower cap or plastic cap and then wrap with a towel to keep in heat for added penetration. Rinse well, then style your hair as usual.
To help smooth, detangle and elongate natural curls, celebrity hair stylist Diane Da Costa, author of “Textured Tresses,” recommends The PhytoLisse Treatment that makes biracial curls more manageable with less frizz. Da Costa also recommends deep conditioning the hair with a conditioning treatment of essential oils and rejuvenating hair masks at least one time per month under a vapor steam dryer for an added hydrating beauty treat.
